After getting 6 trophies, the additional 125 leap range, for almost a second after leaving a bush you are still able to jump. Is this intentional?

How to reproduce:

  1. Get 6 trophies
  2. Walk in and out of a bush, watching the leap indicator.

That's normal. You don't even need 6 trophies, it's still there for .5 seconds to allow you jump outside of the brush.
