Kalista Oathsworn Renewal Not Working

I was playing Kalista in a ranked game. As I started in the game I oathswore to Riven, because my support, Leona, was afk. About 20 minutes into the game, Leona comes back and I want to oathswore with her. I thus bought the oathsworn item in the shop for free, however when I used the hot key for the item and tried to click on Leona it would just turn in a circle and make a weird sound. However, my oathsworn would not change, and it would not go through the animation. It was doing something, but it wasn't creating a new bond with Leona. I believe this is a bug. If I am doing something wrong, please let me know!

Thank you
