patch 5.14 home screen bug windows 8.1
First 3 times i logged into the client it froze and i had to forcshut down my laptop. Then after that fixed but nothing can be clicked on the home page that is related to the burning tides event.

I found an older forum with similar problem. I followed the instruction and deleted the folder, I relogged afterwards and everything is fine.

If you have this, or computer freeze after logging in. Right click your League icon and choose properties. Then choose compatability, check "run the program in compatibility mode" box and choose your Windows 8, and then check run as admin box. Fixed my client recently.
Exact same problem, and then the first game I tried to play on the patch gave me a "The game has crashed. Please try to reconnect to the game." error message.
8.1 here. I am not currently having this issue, however it's clear people are. I encountered the freezing bug before on Bard's release, sad to see it's still here for the 8.1 users.
I'm just here to point out not everybody is, but it sounds like many people are, so I'll just be in my corner now.
I tried what Petoox said, and still nothing was fixed. but my home screen instead of being black has all the pictures very huge and has a scroll because the images from the home page are just huge. Jesus.
I'm getting this same issue, but it didn't start until after the small patch today. Patch 5.14 was fine up until today when my game most recently updated.
I login just fine, but once I get to the homepage, my mouse freezes as does everything else... Hope this gets fixed very soon...

I'm gonna be sad if we don't get the icons because we can't click the icon in the client lol
Exact same problem. =( I'm not having any in-game or match related issues, just the home screen being black and being unable to click on anything save for the play button. I've experienced no freezing as well. This only started in Act 2, during Act 1 I had no issues. I've tried a reinstall / repair client / run as admin / compatibility settings and nothing is working. Hoping when the next Act comes out this will be fixed.

Does everyone else here have a NVIDIA graphics card? None of my friends have this problem, and they don't have this card, so it might be the issue. I'm just throwing things out there.
I can't open my profile tab and all my summoner icons and my teammates summoners don't show and my profile icon is a no show. =( ugh!!!!

Same here. Or maybe my computer picked yesterday to become brokedick. Because shortly after the home screen crashings, it has now become a permanent black/blank screen. I guess I can make lemonade and be thankful that the power light turns on though.
