Blue Outline when hovering over champions/minions etc. offset [GAMEPLAY]

When I hover over any object/minion/champion the blue outline that appears does not line up with the champion, it is always offset and about a half a centimeter below the champion itself. (examples below)

I do not know if this affects the clickable area of the champion or not (for example, in order to click on a champion accurately do i need to aim about a half a centimeter below where they appear on the screen, to match where the hover over outline appears, if so this could have a sever impact when clicking on minions/wards/champions or other small items.)

I play League of Legends on my macbook pro (specifications below) and started experiencing this problem around the time of the new summoners rift update?

If i can provide any other information that might be helpful please let me know!

Hey, got a response from Riot support about this:

Greetings Who Counters,

My name is Zacharan and I'm with the tech team at Riot Games. I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues with the unit outlines being off. Unfortunately, this is an issue with the fact that League does not currently support resolutions above 1920x1080, so on 4k monitors there are visual issues. Reducing the resolution of your monitor, or playing in Windowed mode may solve the issue.

We are currently looking into supporting 4k monitors, so once League does support those resolutions the issue should resolve itself. Please let me know if you have any further questions!

Anyone else having this issue? Also I'm fairly confident that the hotbox is affected by this, because when i hover near the top of a character my cursor must be near the characters visual border to get the outline, but near the bottom my cursor can be a good distance below the object to see the outline.

Thanks again!

I have had this bug for over a year on my mac. I am using a MacBook Air and have a resolution of 1440x900 so retina display is not the issue.
