7.9 Patch bug?

I hopped on league today and when i was about to load into a game with my friends, but then it said "an unknown directx error has occurred and league of legends cannot start please make sure your video card is using the latest video drivers from the manufacturer". I checked everything, it says my driver video card works and everything, even up to date. i cant figure out whats wrong. Now i am afk as my friends suffer in a game without me.
