Banning lag to champion select

When I'm banner and I've finished my last ban, the summoner spells will stay up and I cannot select a champion. Time runs out and I end up dodging and having to wait 5 minutes. If this were to happen in a ranked game I'd be furious. PLEASE do something! I'm on the mac os. I don't know if that means anything.
