BUG - Unremovable blank friend requests

So if you spectate a game and wait for it to finish, in the post game lobby window, if you try to add friends they will appear blank is if they have no summoner icon. These friend requests are irremovable. You can't block them or cancel them, which is extremely annoying.

I've tried repairing the client and even submitted a ticket to riot but following their instructions did not help. Is there any way to solve this problem?
