21:9 locked to 60fps

Just recently installed a 21:9 monitor @ 2560x1080. On my old 16:9 @ 1920x1080 monitor I would get 200+ fps in league of legends. Now with this 21:9 monitor no matter what settings I have, I get the same fps of 50-60. mostly hovering around 57 with jittering. I have tried lowest and max settings both are exactly the same.

I have tried toggling Vsync on and off, made no difference FPS cap is currently set to unlimited.

If I change League of Legends to be 1920x1080 I again get 200+ fps, just in a small box in the middle of my monitor. Obviously not ideal.

I get the same result in both the alpha and the current client.

I am running a 970, and the GPU is under no load when getting this fps number. So the issue is not the performance of my computer.

Kind Regards subserver

Check your monitor's settings and make sure to use the highest refresh rate. Also, are you running Fullscreen or Borderless Windowed?

Ok, I just solved the issue.

I was reading through the game logs when I saw my Hardware Information Set

000003.802| ALWAYS| -----HARDWARE INFORMATION START----- 000003.802| ALWAYS| Operating System: 10 Professional, x64 000003.802| ALWAYS| GPU Manufacturer: AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series 000003.802| ALWAYS| GPU Memory: 2147483648

In my computer I had 2 GPU's installed, my GTX 970 and an old Sapphire HD 7870 that I pass to Virtual Machines's on occasion. So it appears that League of Legends was using my HD 7870 to render the game, then passing it back to the GTX 970 to be displayed on screen. However my HD 7870 is in a x4 PCIe slot, so that explains why it had issues keeping up and was stuttering around 60fps.

I removed the secondary GPU and now get this 000008.209| ALWAYS| -----HARDWARE INFORMATION START----- 000008.209| ALWAYS| Operating System: 10 Professional, x64 000008.209| ALWAYS| GPU Manufacturer: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 000008.209| ALWAYS| GPU Memory: 4293918720

This is quite saddening however, as It was quite useful having my secondary GPU installed, I occasionally used it to connect more monitors as I already have 4 connected to my GTX 970.

It would be nice to see riot investigate further into this issue, and perhaps provide some solution to ensure that the game is rendered on the correct GPU. However that may be determined.

Many Thanks for the suggestions. Cheers. subserver
