Pretty much what happened was, I dashed to the Xin, went right through him into the Zed that I had no vision of, and didn't even attempt to go towards him

Not a bug. You dashed through xin over the wall. Just bad luck zed happened to be there.
Not sure what you mean? From what I'm seeing, you dash through xin, press q to do the knockup (presumably meant for xin), and then it cuts out
And yeah it's not a bug. It's intended. Your dash will ALWAYS go full distance. Since the edge of the range circle was closer to the other side of the wall, you went through it.
