Lag in champ select

I've started playing league recently and whenever I enter champ select on the new client I lag so much that I can't even ban a champion and I get a leavers penalty. I would try to play on the legacy client but when I use that client I drop to about 1 fps every game. This could be due to the fact that I'm playing on a mac but I have have friends that play on mac and have no problems and we both use the same wifi. Any help troubleshooting the problem would be appreciated.

I'm experiencing the same lag in the champions select and I'm aswell playing on a mac. It's so hard to ban or pick a champion (or even select the right masteries) in time. Riot needs to look into this problem.
