Bug with the League Client in Champ Select

I have run into a problem with the client many times while in champ select. Whenever I change my runes or my champion is banned my league client disconnects for a good minute and I have unintentionally dodged many games because of that. Please help me or fix this problem. It is super annoying.

Happened to me in a game when I changed my runes. Then it happened to a couple of other people in the concurrent lobbies which were then disbanded.
