Riot, Getting frustrated by being penalized for quitting a game when the screen goes black after everyone is 'accepts' the match and is transferred to the initial champ select. Has happened on two separate computers at two separate houses. Bug
I Tried uninstall / reinstall 3 times I changed windows 2 times I installed all necessary programs I had only recommended programs and LOL installed. I have bought this pc especially to work with high resolution high everything I written a message about this to riot I have reseted my ip I did everything I have found on support page from riot
PS : works if I want to spectate , works playing Dota 2 and other games wich means its not from my internet or from my graphics
it happens 2 days now... 2 days of trying :((

Hello Rito, my game constantly is going black after the afk check to the champ select. please fix this problem as it has happened twice in a row and I am now waiting half an hour because of this god damn new client that is the buggiest thing I've ever experienced.
It just happened again. Got a 6 minute ban. Riot, if you are reading this, please fix it ASAP, thanks. A gift for inconvenience caused would also be nice too :D
Thanks Riot. Not only for the lp loss but a 30 min dodge queue. You're all some real bread winners. Restore lp to those affected please.
just happened to me too. stuck at 'retrieving data' after accepting the queue. black screen for minutes. have to force shut down client because nothing works.

Wth...I had to dodge 2 ranked games because they were all just black screen.
Just got into my promos. Qued up a game. Champ Select was just a black screen. Couldn't pick anything, so it kicked me out. Then when I logged out and in, it had taken away LP and took me out of my promos completely. Without any games played in it.
I have the same problem. The only times i can play is when I'm not the one to ban or last or second last to ban. Which is not likely. The penalties makes it even worse.

Looks like the last link works for me. When you first launch League, you have a screen with the word 'LAUNCH' at the top. In the right corner of this screen are a few icons. Click the '?' and then click 'Repair'. I'm no longer having the problem!

Riot Support is giving me the classic runaround of asking whether I've allowed admin privileges, updated directx, etc. ofc, I have (I wouldn't be contacting them if the solution were that simple).
The only solution I haven't tried yet is reinstalling League. Usually when a file becomes corrupt (which is the primary reason reinstalling works), the program will crash, rather than continuing to function properly. I don't imagine reinstalling will help, but I'll do it when I have a couple spare hours.
EDIT: fixed by repairing game files. At the launcher screen, click the '?' near the top right. Then choose repair.

I love riot I was in my promos and gess what happend twice black screen so I have to do this AGINE! Now I'm thinking about just one thing FUCK THIS GAME! Let's go play Dota insted they actualy care about community...
Just lost LP and got a 30 min ban because this happened twice in a row. Please fix. AND please compensate. I am not happy.
Happened again today. Its a bug in the client somewhere that Rito has yet to fix. Oh well, guess its time to get into DOTA or HotS.
I have had the same thing, I even sent them a thing asking what is the problem. They say that it is due to me not being able to connect to their servers. In which they gave me their "fixing" tool. Which still didnt work. I have cleaned my computer reinstalled the game and done everything in my power to fix it. But to me it seems that the problem is with THEIR servers but they just dont seem to fix it -.-
The loss of lp and a 5 min queue ban? What's the deal with this black screen. Fix it. I can't rank now.
3 Weeks in, was really enjoying this but, now Ive had the Black Screen after Champ select consistently for 2 days straight now.
Sure would Love to play all those chars I just bought too. RIP..
OH! and 20min timers for nothing I did too?! This is the best! money well spent

Loaded into champ select not once but twice and ggggggguess what?:) black screen both times and not one que dodge but two! And that's not even the best part!:) after the dodges I got hit with a 5min ban then a 30min ban. Don't you just love league and it's perfect client?

This just happened to me now after 8 times of champ select but no game. So been waiting for over twenty minutes for a game and now have to wait another six. I took a screenshot but it's probably not at all helpful.
Same shit 75% of my matches repairs take forever and it only lasted 2 matches before it was screwed up again gg, gona quit again, just came back too shame.

Yo this is 8/17/16 recently after queue if everyone accepted my champion select would be black.
Does anyone have a fix???
Also i have been getting a leave buster for leaving during champion select. 
I've had this problem for well over a year now. I couldn't tell you how many times I've re-installed league but it's well over 20. If anyone's curios this problem has been around since 2013/2014 and riot hasn't even acknowledged it. In all honesty it's probably because there aren't many people with the problem so they don't really care enough to address it. I saw someone said to delete your S_OK file and I'm going to follow up if I keep getting it after this. It's located in Riot games > League of Legends > Projects > lol_air_client > relases > 0.0.1.217 (This will probably be different depending on when you read this because that's the patch I'm on currently). IMPORTANT: It worked but it's basically just another way of re-installing league without re-installing everything. It's just faster way around the problem rather then fully fixing it, however I'm not sure if it won't work cause I just tried it but it's a start I guess. I'm not going to get my hopes up because trust me I've tried everything to fix this problem for well over a year.

same thing happened to me just now, but after i failed to ban a champ or pick one, idk which cause my client was black, the client screen went right back to normal...

Yeah same thing has been happening to me for the last two days. I can't select any champs and I've been penalized for "leaving" I've repaired the client, restarted my computer, updated drives and everything else I could think of. still not working.

I'm getting a black screen in champ select. Naturally its not that bad because it goes away by the time bans are run. the problem is that its getting longer and longer. And now I can barely ban without having to randomly pick someone. Its getting to the point wher eI'm worried I might not be able to do anything... I've tried reinstalling and everything..
this bug has now been happening to me every game with out fail. it takes me about an extra 30 seconds to a minute to get into game after everyone else and if if first to ban then i get dodged and penalized with nothing i can do about it. I am not exaggerating when i say this happens every game, please rito fix this it making the game almost unplayable...
And it's just happened again so I guess that's another "you've abandoned a game" when I haven't time penalty.
I believe this has something to do with the new update a day ago.

Riot all im gonna say is get your stuff together why do i get a leave buster when you super buggy new client crashes and goes black i force quitted reloaded in and leave buster what is wrong with u riot I pay money into this game and play it a lot how am i suppose to tell my friends your game is good when this happens fix it now!!!!!!!!!!!!!
