Selection not going through

hi i went into ranked queue and picked volibear, and then it said waiting on server or something. i thought i was lagging so i waited. the chat was still going on at normal rate, and the other person picked ezreal, and then the timer counts down and bam im out of queue because i didn't pick a champion what, and i lost a bit of lp my internet was fine i dont know what this is, it said an error occurred
