I just re'did provisional and am still the same rank i left off from last season.

Ok so i have been waiting for this update forever and then when it comes my friend won 9 out of 10 provisional and he went straight to bronze 5 again. Can you answer why he is back to the same old rank.

also my other friend who is in gold just went back to gold

Riot stated that your rank in the previous season would have a huge impact on your positioning this season. So that if you were silver 4 all last season and won all your matches in positionals, you wouldn't simply go straight to silver 1 or into gold. They did it to keep people from simply leaping up in ranks I guess.
