Gray Bar underneath patcher icon!

A gray bar appears under the patcher icon but the icon soon after disappears. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it was to no avail. Also the bar never loads it just appears and then in like 5 seconds both it and the patcher icon are gone until i try again. Please help
