Check out this video on PlaysTV.

Zed This bug makes it impossible to chain Zed's Living Shadow (W) and Razor Shuriken (Q) together fluently when chasing.Zed

Bug on live environment:

  1. Get to lvl 2 on Zed
  2. Take Q and W
  3. Cast W in front of you, followed by a Q even farther away (normal W-Q-Combo)
  4. Instantly reactivate W to swap positions with your shadow
  5. Both of your shurikens fire from your starting location (as u can see in the video)

Expected behaviour:

One of the shurikens will fire from the position of your W-Shadow (in front of you) (this is only possible, if you wait a considerably amount of time before pressing W again)

-> this makes it impossible to chase a fleeing opponent with a max range W-Q-Combo and instantly swap to the shadow to chase even further.

This bug first appeared after patch 5.23 hit live Might be correlated to the range increase on Zed's W

You can reproduce this bug 10/10 times without problems.

This makes playing Zed feel really clunky, a thing a Shadow-Ninja-Assassin shouldn't feel like in my opinion, so i hope for a fast fix...

Thank you RIOT,

Yours sincerely, an active Summoner who would love to get a invitation to PBE to test these kind of bugs

look closely at the first attempt, you will see that one of the Q's doesn't go very far from the shadow. In fact it was reaching the same point as the first Q.

Oh, i skipped that part because it had a kinda long intro... Anyway, that's not a bug, that is Riot's bright idea to change the WQ animation. Do you remember the bug with QW when you pressed Q and W very fast that the shadow stil fired that Q? That was indeed a bug, Now, if you do WQ in a straight line has the same effect. To make it more obvious, execut the combo in an angle instead of a straight line. It will be clearer that the Q from the shadow fires long after the Q from Zed. That happend exactly with QW in fast succesions. It basicaly has the exact same function if used in the same way. The reason this happens is the addition of the Q cast animation AFTER the shadow fully forms and not as soon as it is cast. This makes the Q delayed and if you press W-W instantly, you will swap places with the shadow before the cast animation is completed, thus, making the shadow firing the Q afer the swap. This is both good and bad. You can utilize every trick that Q-W bug allowed you to do but can't poke as you used to in a straight line in front of you and swap with the shadow as fast as you used to. It's not a bug. It works perfectly fine, you just have to work with the timings better. Also, now that the shadow has more range, it is better to W-W-Q instead of W-Q-W since you will be closer now and you will shoot the Q on time. But the best is to utilize the longer range and land the slow so that you can hit a double Q and make flasier plays.
