Base turrets deal 0 damage to players with Banshee

I was watching Curse Piglet's stream yesterday. He was playing Lucian with Banshee on. Unfortunately I couldnt find any VOD of this.

What happened was, Piglet turret dives to enemy. (Base nexus turrets) The laser beam was on Piglet's champion but Piglet took absolutely no damage. I have a feeling this is because of Banshee but I am not sure what exactly caused this issue. People who were watching his stream also noticed this issue and he really didn't take any damage.
