MMR/LP this season

Can someone explain why, with 41-34 W/L in D5, I get 10 LP for a win and lose 30 for a loss?

Is this normal? I need an 80% win rate to advance through diamond? Winning 3 and then losing to an AFK to be back where I started makes this... kind of pointless. I thought I should only get these kind of numbers if I was way below 50% W/L and had hundreds of games.
