Using Skins you do NOT Own

So, I queue up with 2 of my friends to go into a dynamic queue game. I am playing fizz, friend A is playing blitz, and friend B is playing Varus. I trade my blitz for fizz in champ select, who neither my friend nor I have skins for. In game, he is able to use the Red Chroma Skin, and for whaetever reason, I get to be able to use Tundra fizz. I did not select a skin, nor do I own a skin for fizz. Friend B is able to use Swiftbolt Varus even though he only owns Arctic Ops. Any reasoning for this?
