Extremely frustrating loop of technical difficulties

After joining an ARAM lobby, I was greeted with a black screen. Unable to do ANYTHING other than open my friends list, I decided to restart my client. This, of course, caused me to incur a 15 minute leaver penalty for doing NOTHING WRONG. Now, trying to find some form of assistance, Riot does not seem to care. In order to create a ticket, I must first verify my email. Yet, the "verify email" link does not send me an email. Am I alone in my frustration? Riot seems not to care.
