Horribly laggy champ select

I didn't like the new client when it was first released because it was laggy as hell on my pos laptop (1,65 GHz dual core, 4 GB RAM, integrated graphics), but Riot promised to make it usable on low spec machines. This worked only partially. while Low Spec Mode makes things like managing loot and using the shop faster, other things are only barely usable, with the main problem being champ select.

  1. The time it takes the client to load champ select after accepting a game is so long, that it only leaves about 15 seconds for banning (forget about declaring intent)

  2. When banning, scrolling through the list of champs is hopelessly slow and choppy, so you have to use the search function. This means three things:

  • If you don't know what champ you are going to ban before champ select (mostly happens if you get auto-filled), you are screwed.

  • If you make a mistake typing the champion you want to ban, you most likely won't have enough time to correct it, and you are screwed.

  • If somebody else bans the champ you wanted to ban you are screwed 100% of the time.

So prepare for some involuntary dodges.

  1. Runes. with the old masteries you could have up to could have up to 20 pages, and you can bet that I used them all when the new client came, because editing them in champ select was too laggy. Only problem: Editing rune pages is even more laggy:
  • The delay between clicking on the "Edit Runes" button and the rune page actually opening is at least 10 seconds.

  • The delay between clicking on a rune and the selection of three runes opening is about 5 seconds.

  • Selecting a rune is another 5 seconds.

  • The delay between clicking on your tree and the selection of trees opening is about 10 seconds.

  • A new main tree being selected takes another 10 seconds. A secondary tree takes about 5.

  • Closing the rune page takes about 5 seconds.

Now, how much time do you have to Choose your Loadout?

  1. Btw:
  • Changing one summoner spell takes 10 seconds.

  • The delay between clicking on the chat and you being able to type is about 5 seconds.

  • Locking in your champion is another 5 seconds.

Now I think (please correct me if I'm wrong) that most of this could be solved by disabling animations altogether and making backgrounds (both the champ select background and the rune page background) low res in champ select when having enabled low spec mode. I just think that a client shouldn't be more resource-heavy than the actual game itself (Client needs 1 GB of RAM, Game only 500 kB). Riot Pls.
