Drafting champs, my turn to pick, and couldn't pick a champ, lost my series. GG RIOT.

So I'm in the drafting phase and I hear the sound to pick a champ, only it's showing that they're still picking on the other team. I tried to lock in and it still wouldn't let me because it shows that the other team is picking. Counts down, I end up getting penalized because I failed to pick a champion and I'm out of my series. Seriously????
