Punished by Leaver Buster for 1st time AFK due to internet DC

I was playing a game in ranked solo queue as ADC and we were winning hard. Every lane won, jungle was winning, and then my internet pooped out. Just completely shut off. I D/C'd and immediately reset router (AT&T takes forever). I came back to the game maybe 5 minutes later, and my team was still winning, we had taken inhib. I came back and we won the game. But then Leaver Buster punished me saying I had left the game and I actually lost LP, even though we won (I was like 4/0 before DC). Frustrated, I put in a ticket for this. Riot said that they cannot do anything as Leaver Buster targets those who have a tendency of leaving. I have never left a game, never AFK'd, never been punished for AFK. They told me that I should post about it here so the Devs can see it. So, dear devs, I do not believe it is fair that I or anyone should be punished for internet disconnection. I was only d/c'd for a few minutes and I had already carried the game that resulted in a victory regardless. Why am I being punished? And to address the 2nd matter, how am I being targeted by Leaver Buster as someone, "who has a tendency to AFK," when I have never AFK'd? I believe the system is a little inconsiderate and unfair and I am not satisfied by the punishment or the lack of support from Riot. People should not be punished for playing the game.
