Nocturne Ult Blind Removes Banshee's Veil

I'm not sure whether or not this is a bug, honestly, but it would seem to be.

I purchased Banshee's Veil on Nami in a game versus an enemy Nocturne, and whenever Noc activated his ultimate and removed all vision on the map, my spellshield would break. Nocturne never hit me with the targeted attack from his ultimate, and this happened every time he ulted. It also reset the cooldown for my Veil every time that he activated his ult's reduced vision as if I had been hit.

Is this an intentional interaction?
