IP displays more than I actually have

For about a month or 2 now my IP has displayed having around 300 more than I actually have. Buying stuff, earning IP or reloading the client does nothing to solve the issue and it's quite annoying. I have no idea how to fix it.

There's nothing more frustrating than seeing my IP and getting a brief feeling of excitement that I can buy a new champion then quickly realizing I don't actually have enough

Logging onto the legacy client for your next purchase should force a re-sync of your ip amounts. After that it should show up properly in the new client.
