My friend just bought a new laptop and is having troubles logging in to his account, everything worked fine at bestbuy where he bought the laptop, then when he come to school, login page just shows an unknown error occured, or just stuck on authenticating.

  1. Fire wall turned off, problem still persist
  2. The school network didn't block any game or users, every other friends using other device of his can login and play the game normally.
  3. Hextech repair tool runned several times, problem still persist.
  4. Nvidia Drivers and Windows 10 system all reinstalled, problem still persist.
  5. Account is normal, still able to login and play the game on other devices. Specs: Windows 10 Alienware 17 R5 Geforce GTX 1070 Version 416.94

Haven't tried Renew IP and flush dns yet Also he got an poor ISP score that is 52/100

I put in a ticket to support a few days ago. Their response helped get League running. Shoutout to Platypus from Player Support for their help!

"This is actually something we are seeing more and more with new Alienware laptops. The network card they run is called Killer and they recently release a new feature that has been causing this issues pretty consistently. To disable Advanced Stream Detect on Killer: Open up Killer Network Manager(may be names something else, but if you search for "Killer" in the start menu you should find it) go to"Settings" Uncheck "Enable Advanced Stream Detect" I am about 99% percent sure this will fix the issue for us but just in case i have a few other things I want to check out."

If that doesn't fix it for you, I recommend putting in a support ticket and walking through everything you've tried. It was easy for me because I just bought a new laptop, so I had a blank slate to practice with. No clue if other things might be conflicting.

Best of luck!

First, refund the money and buy the exact machine but 30-40% cheaper.

Next, uninstall and then re-install now that you aren't using an overpriced name brand.

Uninstalling and reinstalling usually works fine most times in these cases.

I am experiencing the exact same problem. I think this is a bug of this specific model.
