Mac crashes after Champ Select

My mac client has been freezing after champ select the timer goes out and it says prepare yourselves. I don't get a black screen or anything. It waits a couple seconds then i see the pinwheel of death and it says the application is not responding. I can reload the client and get to the reconnect stage so i can get in the game like 8 mins late. I have tried restarting mac, restarting client, and changing my connection issues and even tried ethernet but it doesn't seem to change anything. Any ideas?
