Unable to log you in because you may be offline

I saw the previous threads for this from years ago, I have tried flushing my dns, deleting the certain file line in notepad and have tried fresh installs also tried repair. It says its reverting to an older version and going to patch up to current but never does. Cant seem to get anything to work please help!
