There's a bug in the in-game item tracker's knife

I played 2 games of nidalee where i bought trackers knife and the problem was is when i placed wards down the tracker would say that i had 0/3 stealth wards always even tho i maxed out on wards, still shows 0/3.

in the those 2 games i had zombie ward rune which i think is the cause of the problem

Just tested, Tracker's Knife displays 0/3 regardless of if you have Zombie Ward on. Likely this isn't related to runes and is just a bug on Tracker's Knife
