infinite patching error loop

So for a little background i haven't played league in quite a long time since i've been busy and have this problem where it wont let me open it up from the desktop and i have to go into the file manager and search it up in order to open it. it got really annoying so i stopped playing for about half a year or so. i recently redownloaded it today and it opened up just fine. So i got off my computer to have dinner. I come back, open up league, then this message pops up "there was an error opening up league and were going to restore it to an older version to patch it" or something along those lines. i click okay the client restarts and then it says there was an error patching so i'm stuck in this infinite loop of patching and errors and restarting. Does anyone have a fix for this problem?

having exact same problem....idk how to fix... tried changing the DNS server address and as well as hatch repair.. please help! thank you.

I'm having the exact same problem and it's gotten me disconnected from the last two ranked matches. It boots me at the victory/defeat screen then when I exit client and come back it says this. I'll try and restore the client with tools or fully fresh install and see if that fixes it.
