I am having this same issue. It says " there was an unexpected error logging in" I reinstalled the game and it still doesnt work.

Keep getting an error "There was an unexpected error with the login session. Please try again."

I figured out how to fix it! When you open your client and get to the point where its a black screen with the minimize and close buttons in the top right, click the 'x' and select the sign-out option. I was able to get through after re-plugging my credentials.
