The lag cane on nasus

as an avid nasus player, i have noticed in many games that i have missed quite a few Q stacks due to activating the ability, the champion completely freezing mid animation, and stopping me from hitting the creeps. Or the ability just slows down to what seems to be 1/10th of the actual abilities speed.
