Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite Software mouse bug on Retina display Macs.

AppController·10/18/2014, 1:24:08 PM·7 votes·7,186 views

How to produce this issue

  1. Run game or spectator
  2. Increase resolution higher than normal resolution
  • ex) MacBook Pro Retina 15' normal resolution is 1440x900, so change it to 1680x1000 or higher
  1. Try ping via pressing alt key (it will go up until release) or, turn on software mouse.
  • also when you move cursor to bottom, your cursor will be back 3/4 position.

How to resolve this issue

  1. Decrease resolution to normal resolution. 15’ -> 1440x900 , 13’ -> 1280x800

Seems like there is cursor position calculation issue on retina resolution. It happens from when I installed Yosemite first beta. I hope you guys can fix this quickly.

Bump! I've been having the same issue as well. I remember a while back on the old forums, a Rioter commented on this happening and said, "since it (Yosemite) is in beta, we should just stick to Mavericks, but if it was still a problem approaching the full release of the OS, then Riot would work to combat it."

Well... here we are... Yosemite is out... League players are updating... and my mouse goes absolutely crazy. I can temporarily make it better by turning on & off V-Sync during game, but this only lasts one game and has to be done each game and it's sometimes buggy.

I'm feeling a bit like Amumu right now :(

I have this issue too. I resolve it by switching my resolution to something lower, and then back to the 2880x1800 and then Alt Tabbing in and out of the game 2 times. I have to do this overtime I start a game. Please fix this.

Ya but that only works once a game

I have been having a problem with my mouse camera movement. Riot has only responded with they are working on a fix, but they aren't sure when they will release it. Has anyone else been able to figure out a work around? I have tried reducing my native resolution and then matching the resolution in game to both 1280x800 and that worked for a hot minute, but the newest release has even began to have issues with that workaround.

Amumu Bump! This is issue is pretty summoner 3 annoying. But a cool thing is that in Mavericks with my settings of High and one Medium, I was averaging around 30 FPS but now with Yosemite I'm averaging 50 FPS. So seems like Yosemite is summoner 6 FPS. If this bug is fixed, then hooray! I hope Riot will summoner 4 to fix this issue. If they don't soon, I'm gonna summoner 14 and summoner 11 !

Bump. Having the same issue in Oceania server since updating to Yosemite. Can fix by going out of full screen mode (alt+enter) and back in but need to do it every single game and when I forget at the beginning of the game it can be quite problematic.

I have this same issue after upgrading. Changing the resolution didn't fix it for me. Hope its fixed soon.
