Nidalee spear Bug

When I was playing some games of league today, I noticed that when I threw the spear it went directly through the enemy team members a couple of times. I've known this bug exsisted for a while now and I thought riot was going to fix it, but when will that happen? It just makes playing Nidalee not fun and in terms of ganking is ruins the whole gank.

My first assumption is a latency issue. There are times where I see a friend of mine being directly hit by an attack, in spite of him otherwise. There are also times where I'd played Nid in the past, and spears that look like they would not have made contact, somehow hit. Not disregarding the potential possibility of it being a bug, but wanted to bring this up just in-case.
