Pvp.net kernel not responding

I'm unable to get my launcher to load, my computer shows the logo for a brief second then drops the program completely. I've tried uninstalling from the Control Panel and doing a fresh install but still the same issue. Any wisdom would be appreciated as I was just playing League a few hours ago with no changes to my system since then. Thanks.

Running Windows 7 btw and have already tried running it as an Admin. Still no luck.

Do you have the anti-virus program Avast?
