Since Patch 4.20 Game Crash

So I get into the champ select, everything is fine until it goes to loading screen, except I never get there, it just says "The game has crashed. Please try to reconnect to the game". Try and reconnect, same thing keeps popping up, can't connect to the game. Now it isn't every game, it just randomly chooses certain games. I've tried closing client and reopening, didn't work. Even restart pc, again didn't work. What is the issue? Is it my pc? My client? Or a general client bug?

This has been happening to me since this patch as well, nothing has changed on my end and have been using my "new" computer for about 2 years now. So i know its not on my end. plus this doesnt happen when i play PBE. but it doesnt always happen. and it seems more than likely that i always get disconnected when i minimize the game!

I'm just not going to play (which sucks) until the next patch. i'm tired of being reported for "AFK" when it's the game leaving, not me. My whole laptop has crashed ten times in the past week, all due to League. This hasn't happened before until this newest patch.

I had a different problem that led the game to crash and I had to reboot my client. I was playing and for some reason bot lane had huge sections turn bright white with no features whatsoever, so I got really confused. Then the game crashed, but not before I took some screenshots of what happened.

happsn to me too. this last patch is terrible. nothing but consistent crashes and lags. there is no game i go without a serious 2 minute lag usually requiring game restart.

I fixed the problem, had to reinstall league :/ wasn't too happy but havent had an incident and it's been a couple of days, so try that, it should work :)

I've been having this issue too. Everything is fine until champ select is finished, the game minimizes and when I re open it, it says "game is still in progress". If I re-log it says "reconnect" but when I click it the client minimizes again... it doesn't seem to be able to open the loading screen - only occurred since 4.20. Playing on Windows 8.

Has happened to me for both 4.20 and 4.21. As of 4.21 i now have to restart my computer to reconnect to LOL

dont worry leaver buster will take care of you. like it did with me

in truth though, riot released the patch with dangerous bugs in it. and leaver buster is punishing people unjustly for it.
