mini-patch 11.12.14 unable to launch launcher

Closed out, logged back in and had just a tiny 1 minute patch and now my launcher won't launch. Says PVP.net Patcher Kernel has stopped working. tried to redownload league and didn't fix. Am I the only one having these problems?
