4k not working in new patch

So I've been on with riot support for about 5 or 6 hours trying to get my client to let me play my game but it would just go to black screen on the loading screen going into game and then not let me do anything. It would play game audio, even give me the in game cursor but show me nothing. To make matters worse, after champ select it would show me my champion selected (in 4k) just fine and then after about a second it would cut to a black screen. All riot support told me I could do is wait for a new patch to come out and hope that the highest resolution would be supported. Why isn't the highest in game resolution supported for the new patch? Who fucking knows.

Exactly the same is happening to me. I tried going into the file to change it back to 1920 x 1080 as well and it did work for about 5 minute at which point it froze and I had to restart my computer. At this point, the game is unplayable.
