Hello. Today I log in and see that I can't play ranked, or draft pick at all. I see its cause of "Error 5C." I go to search about this error, other players seem to have same problem as me today. I hope we can get a resolve for this error soon.

Draft pick & Ranked disabled "Can't Connect: Error 5C." Match History empty Runes disappeared, treats me as a new player

When I log in, it said "Unable to retrieve settings etc." so it removed all my rune pages and settings ingame and from the client. I've tried reset my router, and scan my computer for viruses and network issues, but everything seems fine. Any info from riot?

Best regards, KZ Dual

Having the same issue. Also I noticed captchas are popping up from Cloudflare based CDNs, including Riot's own site.

My guess is that the League client uses a Cloudflare based CDN to handle user data, and Cloudflare at some point overnight fucked up and blacklisted a ton of IP addresses on accident. Noticed I'm getting 403s returned from the majority of CDN based GET requests which supports my theory since 403s signify unauthorized requests usually from blocked/forbidden IPs.

This doesn't seem to be an issue Riot can fix, but rather it is an issue on the end of whichever CDN they use (probably Cloudflare/AWS).

edit: Generally, Cloudflare blocks IPs if they were associated with DDoSing. I have a feeling that overnight, a massive DDoS attack occurred where thousands of IP addresses were spoofed during the attack, resulting in them being blacklisted this morning.

TEMPORARY FIX TIL CLOUDFLARE FIXES THEIR FUCKUP:

Turn off your modem/router for 10 mins and see if you are assigned a new IP when you turn them back on. If you get the same IP, then chances are your ISP's DHCP assignment is based on the MAC address of your modem so you have to call them to change it, or google how to spoof your MAC address
