Hey man idk if you're still having the same problem but I had it too. I couldn't find a technical answer but what I did was I opened up the applications folder and just renamed it to "League of Legends2" idk why but it worked afterwords on my iMac and Macbook pro

You should put your mac in there while you're at it. Sorry, I couldn't help myself. Not sure why it would say that after you redownloaded it; was that after you uninstalled it completely, or did you just try to repair it? First I suggest you try shutting down your computer completely, then turning it back on and trying after that. If that doesn't help, try the repair tool; and if THAT doesn't help, try doing a clean install of it (after fully uninstalling everything).

I’ve had the same problem trying to install it onto my MacBook. If you go into the league files in tha application folder then right click and click show package contents, then contents, lol, and league client, it opened up just fine. Problem is, after that, the game got stuck at 76% the 3 times I tried to download it.

This worked for me:

  1. Open terminal
  2. use this command to take it out of apple's quarantine:

xattr -d '/applications/League of Legends.app'

you can substitute the location to where the actual file is. I did it on the desktop and then moved the file to applications. Works fine.
