I was laning vs tryndamere as karma top. He dove me under my tower, I W'ed him and when he died he got executed by tower instead of giving me the kill(yes im 1000% sure i W'ed him, he even admitted it was odd that i didnt get the kill credit)

I see 3 possibilities:

Karma's W has a casttime of around ~0.5s If he died within that time you didn't do any damage yet and didn't earn kill credit.
Did he ult? If so, W only ticks every full second, so maybe the damage from W that could've killed him didn't count? Seems dodgey though.
