Redeem Failed - Can't Unlock Champion Shard

I bought Gangplank using a shard and blue essence and got the Gangplank permanent item. When I try to unlock the champ it says:

REDEEM FAILED!

You drop in a shard, expecting a magical (and totally scientific) transformation... but instead your shard pops back out. Please try restarting your client. If you continue to see this message please try again later, there may be issues with the service.

I've restarted a few times but still no no avail. Anyone else having these issues?

*** UPDATE *** I was just able to unlock 9:00 EST

Same problem here, except with a zed shard. I attempted to disenchant into BE and buy him with BE in the store and I get an "Unexpected Error" message.

Submitted a ticket, and looks like rito knows about it (NA server only).
