[CLIENT] exits on communications error during login

As the title states, after entering login credentials and attempting to login, if a network error is encountered an error dialog is shown and the client exits when the "ok" button is clicked.

This is particularly frustrating because a) you need to re-launch the client and b) re-enter credentials. Nearly every time this happens, a subsequent login attempt works as expected.

I encounter this issue a couple of times a week when servers appear to be busy ( all other internet traffic works fine for me at the time, and a subsequent login succeeds ). This has been going on for as long as I can remember.
