I get asked to verify my account then forced to change my username like what? Can't skip this, I just wana play the game. I already have a username that's what i did when I created my account and I can't pick the same username I already have because it is already taken......by the account that I already have? What is this new system and why is it one of the worst thing I've ever seen? Why would you merge accounts and not just use the default account info of the people who created accounts like it blows my mind how systems could be this bad.

It's only for sign in purposes though. It doesn't effect your IN GAME username or your forum username.

I wouldn't have a problem with this... except for some reason you can't have your RIOT account name be the same as your account name for League Forums. THIS IS A HUGE PROBLEM. If you try to create a new account with the same username, it'll tell you it's ALREADY TAKEN, when we know it's not. It's not just me, i've done my research, There are people with VERY specific usernames that they've had for years complaining about this. I can't have the name "DrDubb" as my RIOT account name because I'm already using it on here, that makes no damn sense. "DrDubb" is common, but there are people with the names like "87fignumb3rfishclox" that have the account name taken.

So you're forcing me to change my account name, but can't have the same account name as I already have because I'm already using it, even though i have to change it? This makes no god damn sense. RIOT, fix your shit.

This is crap. Let our Riot Name be the same as the ingame name or let us change our ingame name at least once. I want to keep my Accountname which i had for years.

Riot, did u think about instead of selling a Summonername-Update for a high number of EP and RP(blue essences and BE whatever), you could let us change our ingame name once... I want my Name to be the one for my Main "RIOT" Account.

This change is meant "only for your private/login username" - doesn't affect your public name (the one that everyone can see - like: "Chop Chop M8"). I'm not sure - but maybe their database was compromised (hacked). I mean, this is a standard procedure - when/if that happens.

Be sure to change your name as soon as you can, because on January 22nd, 2020, you’ll no longer be able to sign-in with your old name to play any of our games. You can, however, still sign in to change your username. Just remember, you won’t have to change anything if your name is already unique!

Because Riot stopped thinking before taking any decision, they should easy keep the same accounts for their new card games, since you anyway use that account on forum and support site, but hey uncenessary changes seems better in their opinion.

"This name will not be seen by other players and is only used for sign in." It states it as you're changing your username it's not your in-game name just login.. I'm assuming to add more security than just having your username login your in-game name so everyone has half of the puzzle.

I'm playing from season 1, and now somebody takes my login??? love it, GJ RITO, they could have at least save it for some time, or have something like blizzard has (a hidden 4 diggit number after your nickname) so you can have your preffered nick. I also tryed like 4 different account names that I have and they are all taken. It's a stupid thing but it pissed me and so many other people off. This attitude from RITO makes people mad, but good move RITO, keep going.

I´m not really sure if i´m missing something here. Are we twitter now? That we have to completely overproportionally make a shitstorm out of literally nothing?

My Summonername is exactly the same as before. Who cares about the Username anyways?

My only fear was that they got rid of the extra security meassure of having a different name to sign in than is shown in the game and on stats sites etc. Which is hopefully not the case, haven´t checked that. Other than that, i think you should all calm down before your heads pop off.

this is just r%%%%%ed, somebody took my 2 acc names, they even match my emails.... Just let us connect with our emails as a acc name to the RIOT’s games , like you won't go global with league anyways, cuz the way regions work(rank systems, servers). Why are you guys forcing everyone to change something just now less people will want to play league. Create seperate platform that we should connect our league acc's that uses emails or edit client that we could download seperate games from it if we wanted and those games could be connected globaly instead.
