Can't log in after patch.

I get and error when I first try to log in, then an endless "Authenticating" the second time. I can log in on my pre 30 smurf just fine though and there are others posting about the same problem on reddit.

Hi Guys, thanks for being patient with us. We have engineers looking at the problem right now. I do have a question for those having this issue: How many of you were in game and were kicked out? I'm trying to get a feel for how many folks are not able to get back in, or if this was your first time logging in.

Let me know. Thanks for any info you can give.

We're still digging into the issue, but we did test the sub-30 account you all suggested when you mentioned your smurfs were logging in. It's given us a small lead. I'll get some updates here as we know more.

Thanks to you and the team for waking up at 5:45 to fix this issue for us. It's appreciated Was my first time logging in this morning, wasnt kicked out. Also does sending traceroutes still help or are you guys past that point?

[Update] We know that some accounts are able to log in while others can't, but we still don't know what the defining difference with those accounts are. Not much to say here, but we're following any lead that makes sense at the moment.

I hope to have more of an update in the next post.

Someone apparently has around 4 skins on their account and still having issues.

Seems client related rather than account related. The client won't leave the authenticating screen, but people see us logged in.

We have a situation where:

accounts theoretically with less skins (i.e. low level accounts/smurfs) seem to have no trouble.
accounts' online status at the time of disconnection seem to be irrelevant (both parties are affected)
Friends are able to see us as online when we are on the "Authenticating screen".

To expand on point 3, the client even acts as though we have been logged in. For example, when we are on authenticating in the background and browsing the internet with google chrome as the active tab, the client flashes orange at a point as if to say something is happening, but then when you click the tab, nothing is going on, its still authenticating.

I notice a pattern on these forums that people (such as myself) were logged in and got booted for maintenance are having issues with only those accounts. I created a new account which does not have issues, but my account which was logged in and got booted cannot log in.

Nope...wasnt logged in for 17 hours before patching.....sorry that's not it.

Same issue, played a few matches, then got kicked out. error code 003 with 0.0MB.

I am wondering if this has anything to do with the new feature regarding skins. Maybe if you remove the new skin feature until you can find a bug fix.

Yep, forced to log out so that League can restart, and it's trying to download a 0.0 MB patch and throwing error 003.

This looks like a separate issue we're looking into. Riot Chesties will keep everyone in the loop while we troubleshoot the Error 003 patching issue in this Live Incident thread.

I have a post 30 account and was able to log in no problem. I waited until the patch fully downloaded and installed before I logged in.

I know you can log in before the patch finishes installing and look at patch notes, store, etc. However, you won't be able to open the lobby and start a game.

I didn't do that.

These people who can't log into their main accounts, but can log into their smurfs probably logged into their main accounts before the patch installed all the way. After they realized they couldn't log in, the patch had finished installing, and they could log into their smurf accounts.

Maybe?

League says it cannot patch due to a 003 issue with the server, i was playing lastnight just fine and now it work patch or load

Seems this issue is fixed(at least for me, but a new one has popped up I keep getting some "error code 003" that "prevents me from patching" despite already have patched the game, then it attempts to patch nothing in an endless loop. [zombie-nunu-bummed] aaaand great now I can't play on EUNE either. FeelsTerribleMan

[Update] The fix for login issues will require a platform restart. We're shutting down the ability to queue into ranked games as we prepare to restart it.

Yep. Same here. My friends can log in, anyone who wasn't in a game when the servers went down. I think because I was in a game when the servers went down I can't log in. Stuck at authenticating.

I wasn't in a game before hand, just browsing the store about 15 minutes before servers were to go offline.

When i try and log on it says error code 003 and makes me restart and then nothing happens after that. It doesnt load.

Fuck as this been going on for eight hours? I'll stop re-trying. Have they tried turning the servers off and on again?

Just did full repair and can't log-in still

I wasn't in-game when patch went out though I finished one 30 mins before the patch

I had the game closed since I knew servers were going to be down so it doesn't match up with the trigger everyone is suggesting, though its pretty much the same "Authenticating" issue

Im having same issues. I last logged in about 10-12 hours ago and now getting an error msg after putting in my password then gets stuck on authenticating if u try again....
