I fixed my download problem by enabling p2p transfer, it was still far, far too slow (2kbps??) but it worked. That still didn't fix my connection issues on a mac.

Being a mac user I have always ran into problems but I think I concurred them all! Here is a checklist to hopefully help get this game DL hassle free.

  1. Go to your [ System preferences > Security & Privacy > Allow apps downloaded from: Anywhere ]

  2. Start the patcher > right click it in your dock > Options > Show in Finder > Right click "LoLpatcher" > Get info > Check the box to Prevent app nap > Do the same for the patchhelper > CLOSE THE PATCHER

  3. Go to [ System preferences > Network > Advanced > DNS > Add two DNS Servers: 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4 ]

  4. Start up League of Legends and begin patching

  5. Open up your "Activity Monitor"

If download starts to slow down dramatically do the following:

  1. Turn Peer to Peer sharing on in setting for 30sec - 1 minute, then switch back

  2. Toggle between NA and Oceania Server

  3. check to see if your Lol_Kernel is (Not Responding) ---If this is the case, quit the process using the X in the top left--- DO NOT QUIT THE LOL PATCHER EVEN IF ITS (NOT RESPONDING)

  4. I think it works with your firewall both on and off. If is another setting you can toggle during download to see which way will provide better DL speeds. [ System preferences > Security & Privacy > Firewall ]

Happy Holidays! Hope this works for you.
