Unbelievable Ping Spikes since 7.12

Been having an issue lately with outrageous lag spikes exclusive to League. Attempted to troubleshoot my internet problems, but had no luck fixing the problem. Internet is fine for everything else in the house, but whenever I play League, my ping goes from its usual 70ish to as high as 1500 a few times. I looked into the issue online, and saw that it might have something to do with the 7.12 patch. If anyone has any helpful information, I would greatly appreciate it if you could help me out. The game has become nearly unplayable for me.
