Getting Matched With Ranked People (Platinum/Gold)?!?!

Hey guys, I have a level 30 account that I've just been playing PvE on. I decided to try PvP out last night and today. I'm queuing up for Normal Blind Pick and I assumed it would match me up with other newish people. But I keep getting matched up with Gold/Platinum players and I don't understand it. They just flame at me and complain during the game. I'm not purposely trying to lose, I'm just not at the level they keep matching me up at.I'm new to PvP. My initial thought is that this isn't supposed to happen and it's some kinda bug? How do I fix this?

My understanding of the matchmaking system is rather poor, but it is likely that you generated a high MMR (match making rating) by playing a large number of AI games, and this impacted your MMR in PvP games, placing you against more highly skilled players. This should adjust as you play more PvP games, until your PvP MMR is such that you will be matched against players of your own caliber.
