[CRASH] Client disapeers after every game (5.1)

Well this bug is kinda self explanatory, but I'll add some depth.

At the end of a game, on either the "Victory" or "Defeat" screen, once I press the continue button, the game just vanishes. No post-game lobby, no client, no bug splat or error report about a crash, or anything. All I see after I push the continue button is my desktop and whatever else I had running in the background while playing.

Not sure how one would reproduce said bug, but it's happened for me with each and every game I've played since the latest patch came out.

All I know is that I have to restart league after every game and login again.

Update: After checking my task manager after a match, the lol client process is still running, but the application itself is no longer running.

I'm using Windows 7 64-bit if that means anything.

Also it seems like I'm not the only one this is happening to.

Yeah, you posted in mine about the same thing. Looks like yours is getting more exposure so here's hoping they figure out what's causing this.

I'd like to know whats going on because riot has not even answered others about this same issue

Glad to see I'm not the only one having this issue. Mine also will do the same thing right after champion select and also in post game lobbies (If I make it that far...). Chat stops allowing input, then suddenly, League disappears. Have to close the process in task manager before I can re-open. I'm running in Windows 8.1 x64 pro. Didn't do this until after the 5.1 patch. Riot has already said "The most broken thing in league is the lore", so I don't expect to get a fix for a while. This is why I stopped buying riot points about a year ago...

I've been having this problem as well exactly how you describe it, for the last month. Was hoping for a fix with the newest patch, but it still hasn't happened. I have been looking around and I see a lot of forums about this same problem, but with no solutions posted. I have tried re-downloading client with no success. Riot really needs to get on this, seems to be a problem for a lot of people, I even have some friends in rl that are having this same problem. Also, lots of chat dc problems. Hard to do ranked if you can't talk to your team in select, or honor or report people after the match. FIX PLEASE.

Too bad there was no solution found for this yet, because I've been having the same problem as described by nyvrvyn now for weeks.

I didn't have that problem as long as I was running LOL under XP, but I switched to Win 7 64 two weeks ago and ever since I have the same problem.

The game crashes after "Victory" or "Defeat" (nearly) every time. I had it once now that I was able to honour others after the game. But usually I wasn't able to do so, because the game always crashed with no bug splat or other visible result. I just start and log in again afterwards like I hadn't been playing before.

In addition, I don't know whether that's related, I'm also often disconnected from and reconnected to PVP net while selecting the champion before the game starts. nyvrvyn, does that happen to you, too?

My client also closes to only running the background after a game. I'm Windows Vista. Can we get a fix for this? Used to work fine, doesn't work now. Very annoying because after every game i have to reload the client, then click the 'yes close the currently running client' error and relog.

I've done quite some reading in the forums and there are quite a few people, who've seen this problem. A lot of game crashes like this were fixed by

  1. uninstalling lolrecorder which I don't have. Also I read that some fixed it by doing
  2. "repair" in the client launcher but even three repairs later nothing's changed for me. Also after recent Windows updates or patches a lot of players report random crashes, which they fixed by
  3. uninstalling and reinstalling the Windows patches of the last few days but that had mostly to do with the client freezing the PC after logging in and usually mostly was seen under Windows 8 and 10, whereas I've got WIn 7.

On the other hand my lolclient also freezes my PC completely for a couple of seconds after logging in. Also I seem to be having issues with the PVPnet. I'm often logged off and on again, usually like 2-3 times before the game has even started.

So, since this sounds most promising, I'll try to uninstall the last ~3 weeks of Windows patches, uninstall LOL, let Windows patch itself again, and reinstall LOL. *sigh* We'll see. I hope I'll be able to report soon that that worked.

Oh well, the reinstalling the windows patches didn't help. I uninstalled all until 3rd of March, up til one I couldn't remove. Most possibly due to the patch having some earlier dependencies or what. It didn't help. I also tried to "repair" the .Net installation. But it all didn't help a bit.

Support! Please help!

I've tried the repair client like three times and it didn't help... Also my client keeps telling me I have disconnected from pvp like every two seconds. Anyone else have this problem? I need help. T.T

same issue here.... client repair sometimes helps for a single game... but nothing that lasts
