The Game I was In Disappeared

I was playing a ranked game. In the middle of a teamfight I get "attempting to reconnect". I wait a few seconds, then close my client because i figure oh im already dead might as well try to get back in faster. I'm in the lol client, I think to myself ughh hurry up. I click skip waiting for stats. I'm at the homepage. There is no reconnect button. The game I was just in disappeared. I WAS WINNING THE GAME THIS IS SO MESSED UP HOW DO GAMES JUST DISAPPEAR???
